First Steps

To get started with the MDB Development Kit, please follow these steps:

  1. (Optional) Connect an HDMI screen to the Raspberry Pi
  2. Connect the power supply to the device (Either through the Micro USB Connector on the Raspberry, or through the MDB connector with the MDB Power off, turning it on after the connector is plugged in)
  3. Connect the device to the network
  4. SSH to the device (Please check the section below)

Never plug in MDB Cables with MDB Power on.

The device is now ready to use. It is possible to install an existing Qiba/Qibixx application to it, or start developing your own.

For Qiba/Qibixx applications, the installation procedure should be described separately, but if some assistance is needed, please feel free to reach out contact@qiba.pt

SSH to the device

To connect to your device, first you need to know its IP address. This can be done by accessing your router’s web page in your browser (usually it is http://192.168.1.1 ) and there should be a list of connected devices. Look for the devices named “raspberrypi”. More information about discovering the Raspberry Pi’s address in this page. Once you know the IP address, you are now ready to connect to your device. Please check the next sections to learn how to do so for the most commonly used OS.
