Unigate
Unigate is a Linux based MDB device with Master, Slave/Peripheral and Sniffing capabilities. It features additional IOs for special applications and can connect via Ethernet to a host or cloud. Due to the embedded, low-power design and high reliability, it is perfect to be used in payment and remote machine monitoring applications. Unigate was designed as a cost effective option to implement custom solutions for MDB Systems.
On the Unigate hardware, equipped with a plug-on MDB module (MDB Mini), the following interfaces are available for use by an application written specifically for Unigate:
Interfaces: MDB, 2 relay outputs (SPDT), 2 contact closure inputs, RS-232 interface (rx/tx/gnd).
Unigate needs a matching application and portal to be used. The device 'as is' is only suitable to be bought by customers who are building a solution with the device and know how to program on it.
Common applications for the unigate are
- Qibixx MDB for TWINT (sold exclusively by Qibixx in Switzerland): The Unigate, with Qibixx software and portal, connects a vending machine with the TWINT payment systems
- Qibixx Zahlkontakt for TWINT (sold exclusively by Qibixx in Switzerland): The Unigate in a version without MDB hardware capability, provides payment pulses, activated by payments with TWINT (QR based payment)
For use with MDB, the unigate usually is just connected via Ethernet to the internet and via MDB to the vending machine or peripherals.
For use with contact closure or other generic solutions, unigate will be powered via the 15-pin canon connector on the top side. This connector also provides the relay output and eventual contact closure input signals. Details see here (link to pinout)
